Delhi Election Results 2015 - Badarpur

Narayan Dutt Sharma (AAP ) Ramvir Singh Bidhuri (BJP )

Babarpur is one of the 70 assembly constituencies of Delhi, and Badarpur is a historical town in South Delhi. Narayan Dutt Sharma (AAP) has won the Assembly election 2015, got 9,4242 votes against Ramvir Singh Bidhuri of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who has got 4,6659 votes.

Votes polled on Feb 7 and the results was announced on Feb 10, 2015.

Badarpur assembly seat has never been won by the Congress and the BJP won it for the first time in last assembly elections in 2013. This assembly seat in the South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency has been dominated by political turncoats. Both party hoppers, Rambir Singh Bidhuri and Ram Singh Netaji have been elected thrice and twice respectively from this seat.

While Rambir Singh Bidhuri won the seat in 1993, 2003 and 2013, as candidates of Janata Dal, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) BJP respectively, Ram Singh Netaji became victorious in 1998 and 2009.

Rambir Singh Bidhuri, who contested the last assembly election to Badarpur constituency on the ticket of the BJP, polled 45344 votes to defeat Ram Singh Netaji by a margin of 13854 votes. Ram Singh Netaji, who entered the fray as a congress candidate, secured 31490 votes and was followed by Nar Singh Shah of the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Narayan Dutt Sharma, who has again been fielded by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), came close to the BSP nominee by securing 20833 votes.

In 2008 Delhi Assembly polls, Ram Singh Netaji who contested as Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate, defeated Rambir Singh Bidhuri, then a Congress member, by a margin of 13305 votes. While Ram Singh Bidhuri secured 40111 votes, Ram Singh Netaji got 53416 votes. Khem Chand of BJP received 15621 votes.

In 2003 Delhi Assembly polls, Rambir Singh Bidhuri of Shard Pawar headed Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) won the seat by defeating Ram Singh Netaji , then a Congress nominee, by a thin margin of 436 votes. Rambir Singh Bidhuri received 40224 votes and Congress candidate got 39788. Brahm Singh of BSP secured 14976 and came third by polling 14.2 percent of votes.

In 1998, Badarpur assembly seat was won by Ram Singh Netaji who trounced Rambir Singh Bidhuri by a margin of 14289 votes. In that election, while Ram Singh Netaji was in the contest as an Independent, Rambir Singh Bidhuri was the choice of the Congress.

In the first elections to the Delhi Legislative assembly in 1993, the Badarpur constituency went in favour of Rambir Singh Bidh
