Goa Legislative Assembly Election 2017

Goa Assembly election for 40 seats scheduled in a single phase on February 4, 2017. Vote counting will be on March 11, 2017.

The major political parties in the state are the Indian National Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party and Aam Aadmi Party. The Aam Aadmi Party is contesting in the state for the very first time.

In 2014 BJP candidate Parrikar was elected as a Chief Minister of Goa, but he had to resign due to takes charge as Defence Minister of India, after that Laxmikant Parsekar took oath as Chief Minister of Goa.

On the basis of a survey conducted in Goa by VDPA the BJP is going to get majority, the party expected to get 20 to 24 seats in the 40-member state legislative assembly of Goa.
