Karnataka General Election 2014

Karnataka is a state that belongs to the southern part of India. The population of Karnataka is more than 61,000,000.

There are 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka. Among them Bidar, Kolar, Chamarajanagar and Chikkodi are reserved constituencies for the Scheduled Castes.

The total number of electorates in Karantaka is 44,694,658 of which 22,800,918 are male votes and 21,885,287 are females.

Politics in the state are mainly dominated by the three main parties The Indian National Congress, the Janta Dal (Secular) and the Bhartiya Janata Party. During the recent times it has seen many ups and downs in the political system of this state.

Opinion poll conducted by CSDS says Congress party will win 10-18 seats while the BJP is likely to win 6-10 seats. 4-8 seats may be bagged by the Janata Dal Secular (JDS).

The CNN-IBN opinion poll gives Congress party 18-22 seats while the BJP is likely to win 2-6 LS seats. The JD(S) party may secure 2-6 seats.

India TV survey says INC may win 13 seats and the BJP will get 12 seats. The JD(S) is likely to win 3 seats. Headlines Today-CVoter opinion poll predicts 13 seats for the BJP, 12 by the Congress party, 2 by JDS and 1 by AAP.
