Uttaranchal General Election 2014

Uttarakhand or Uttaranchal, one of India's newest hill states that was carved out of northern Uttar Pradesh on 9th November 2000. It is the 27th state of the country.

There are 5 Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttaranchal. Out of which one is the reserved for the Schedule Castes. The constituencies are Tehri Garhwal, Garhwal, Almora, Nainital, and Hardwar. The reserved constituency for the SCs is Hardwar. The total number of electorates in Uttaranchal is 6,786,394, of them 3,562,721 are male voters and 3,223,661 are female voters.

Opinion poll conducted by India TV says that BJP will have a clean sweep in Uttaranchal winning all 5 Lok Sabha seats. The Headlines Today prediction is that 2 seats will be won by INC and 3 by BJP.
