West Bengal General Election 2015

There are 42 Lok Sabha consistencies in West Bengal. There are 10 constituencies that are reserved for the Schedule Castes and only one constituency reserved for Schedule Tribes. The constituencies reserved for SCs are; Arambagh, Alipurduars, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Bangaon, Ranaghat, Joynagar, Mathurapur, Bishnupur and Bolpur. The constituency reserved for STs is Jhargram.

The total number of electorates in West Bengal is 62,468,988 out of which 32,489,949are male voters and 29,978,526 are female voters.

Opinion poll conducted by CNN IBN & CSDS says that TMC may win 20-28 seats, Left Front may bag 7-13 seats and the Congress party 5-9 seats. The BJP will win 0-2 seats. India TV opinion poll gives Trinamool Congress 23 seats, Left Front 16 and the Congress party is likely to win 3 seats. Out of 42 seats in West Bengal, TMC is headed to get about 32 seats and the Left will get only 9. That is as per the NDTV Poll.
