The All Jharkhand Students Union Party came into fame under the wise leadership of Dayanand Bandodkar. He was also the first Chief Minister of post Portuguese Goa. Bandodkarhad dominance in non-Brahmin sections of the Goan society through its able leadership and great principles. The major voter base of the All Jharkhand Students Union Party comprises the non-Brahmin Hindus, who make the mainstream of the browbeaten, poor sections of Goa.

All Jharkhand Students Union Party was officially formed in June 22, 1986 in the undivided state of Bihar with the principalaim to develop separate state, Jharkhand, which was turned up in 2000 from a part of Bihar. The president of AJSU is Sudesh Mahto who is the Home Minister of the Jharkhand state government.

All Jharkhand students' union party was organized with Assam state students' organization. AJSU was cynical regarding the political performance of the state therefore party beganfor state poll to bring a tentative change in the state under the headship of capable leaders. In 2004 parliamentary poll, AJSUparty made coalition with Bharatiya Janata Party but it was compelled to play a role of opposition to United Progressive Alliance led by Indian National Congress. The top leader of the party is great social supervisory Sudesh Mahato. The collaboration between AJSU and BJP could not go for long time and in 2005 Jharkhand state poll, they were separated and AJSU made its partnership with Lok Janshakti party.

All Jharkhand Indian Union is famous for organizing general strikes and a campaign to stay away from the Lok Sabha elections in 1989. By 1990, party had taken a more practicalstand and projectedable candidates for the Bihar state assembly election on the Jharkhand MuktiMorcha symbol. In the 2004 Lok Sabha elections, AJSU was alliedwith the Bharatiya Janata Party. Presently, AJSU contests elections under its original name. News reports indicated that The All Jharkhand Student Union party has plans to contest elections in the bordering states of Jharkhand. Party chief SudeshMahtoaffirms that they will be contesting LS polls from Orissa, Bihar and West Bengal, apart from Jharkhand.
