Rashtriya Lok Dal, recognized as RLD is a regional political party in India.

Party president is Chaudhary Ajit Singh who follows the political inheritance of his father and earlier Prime Minister of India, Charan Singh and the original Lok Dal. Party has mass base in western part of Uttar Pradesh. Political symbol of party as approved by election commission is hand lamp.

About Rashtriya Lok Dal

   Rashtriya Lok Dal History

Rashtriya Lok Dal, recognized as RLD is a regional political party in India. Party president is Chaudhary Ajit Singh who follows the political inheritance of his father and earlier Prime Minister of India, Charan Singh and the original Lok Dal. Party has mass base in western part of Uttar Pradesh. Political symbol of party as approved by election commission is hand lamp. Famous leader of Samaj wadi party, Amar singh and Heroine Jaya Prada also joined RLD party.

The party has mass base in the western region of Uttar Pradesh. During the period of 2002-2007, the Rashtriya Lok Dal party had six ministers in the Uttar Pradesh government. In 2004 Lok Sabha elections, Rashtriya Lok Dal had collation with the Samajwadi Party. The party got 2,463,607 votes and won three seats. With Samajwadi Party, RLD fought seats only in the western part of Uttar Pradesh that was normally dominated by Jats community. In 2009, Lok Sabha elections, RLD allied with Bhartiya Janta Party. In this election, the party grabbed five seats. On 12 December 2011, the RLD officially integrated with the United Progressive Alliance after meeting Indian National Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

Rashtriya Lok Dal party have five Member of Parliament in 15th Lok Sabha namely, Ajit Singh (Baghpat), Jayant Chaudhary (Mathura), Devendra Nagpal (Amroha), Sarika Singh (Hathras, SC) and Sanjay Singh Chauhan (Bijnor).

Rashtriya Lok Dal party has 8 MLA's in 15th Vidhan Sabha (Uttar Pradesh) these are Thakur Dalveer Singh, (Barauli-Aligarh), Feroze Ali Khan, Chhata- Mathura, Kartar singh Bhadana (Muzaffarnagar), Virpal Rathi (Bagpath), Bhagwati Prasad Suryavanshi (Khair-Aligarh), Badan Singh (Mathura), Triloki Ram Diwakar (Iglas-Aligarh), Sudesh Sharma (Ghaziabad), Haji Shoaib Iqbal from (Matia Mahal constituency), and Mr. Jabar Singh Pradhan (Kotban).

Rashtriya Lok Dal party prepared manifesto on the basis of minority issues. Party has firm commitment to wipe out corruption and successfully maintain law and order situation. When party is in power, it offered a number of concessions for minorities in its manifesto for the February Assembly elections in Bihar. Party promised to build a Vikas Sena to ensure that the growth of state is directly benefited to dalits, backwards, minorities and other oppressed sections of society. The RJD promised to work for all-round development in Bihar but in its manifesto, there is a favour to minorities group. The RJD was strongly in favour of the Women's Reservation Bill pending in Parliament.
