West Bengal Municipal Election

The Elections for West Bengal Municipal Corporations going to be polls on this April 2015. State Election Commission schudeled for Kolkata Municipal elections on April 18 , while elections in the rest of the municipal bodies across the state will take place on 25 April 2015.

Kolkata went to poll for 144-ward Kolkata Municipal Corporation on 18 April 2015. There were a total of 37, 42, 019 eligible voters who cast their votes in 4,704 polling stations to decide the fate of 1,077 candidates.

There were reports that polls were affected due to violence with voters and polling agents being threatened by the Trinamool Congress (TMC), but the ruling party in the city denied the allegations. The counting of the votes will take place on 28 April 2015.
